Whatever happens in the life of a believer is deeply connected to their spiritual walk with God. One of the greatest ways God reveals Himself, His will, and His purpose to His people is through the study of His Word. The Bible is God’s inspired Word, given to teach, guide, correct, encourage, and equip believers for every good work.
The best way to grow spiritually is through faith in Jesus Christ and a consistent commitment to studying and applying God’s Word. Through Bible study, we gain wisdom, understanding, and strength to live according to God’s will. The psalmist declares, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). As we meditate on Scripture, our minds are renewed, our faith is strengthened, and our relationship with God deepens.
Bible study provides believers with the opportunity to learn God’s promises, understand His character, and discover the principles that lead to a victorious Christian life. Just as physical food nourishes the body, the Word of God nourishes the soul. Those who diligently study and obey God’s Word are better equipped to withstand life’s challenges and remain steadfast in their faith.
The Bible Study Ministry of Our Saviour Anglican Church, Calgary serves as a centre for spiritual growth and discipleship within the Church. Through regular study sessions, discussions, and practical application of biblical truths, members are encouraged to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and Christian maturity. Following the example of the Berean believers, who searched the Scriptures daily (Acts 17:11), we are committed to studying God’s Word faithfully and diligently.
The Apostle Paul encourages believers to “study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). Therefore, we are determined to continue growing in the knowledge of God’s Word, building strong disciples of Christ, and advancing His Kingdom for the glory of God in Jesus’ name.
